Supplier Spotlight: Cullum Detuners Delivers Critical Work for NZT Power
28 July 2026 – Teesside – As construction of NZT Power, set to be the world’s first gas-fired power station with carbon capture, continues on Teesside, the project is already delivering significant economic benefits to businesses and communities across the region. As a result of a contract awarded by Technip Energies, Derbyshire-headquartered Cullum Detuners has created 15 new jobs, secured local fabrication work, and generated further supply chain activity across Teesside.
Cullum Detuners: Local Manufacture, Local Delivery
Cullum Detuners has been contracted by Technip Energies to procure, manufacture and install the high specification flue gas ducting for NZT Power, a critical component in ensuring the efficiency and safety of the carbon capture process.
The project is being managed directly from Cullum’s Stockton offices, while fabrication is being carried out by In-Spec in Middlesbrough, with final module assembly performed in the former British Steel Plate Mill. This partnership will support 40 fabrication roles over a 15-month period, utilising 25 members of the existing workforce alongside 15 newly created positions. Two additional engineering and management roles have also been filled specifically to oversee delivery of the project.
Cullum’s involvement reflects a project execution strategy built around securing local jobs and incorporating locally sourced materials and services, reinforcing Teesside’s growing reputation as a hub for decarbonisation engineering.
